July

  • 9th         “Headwaters Hike” to Clearwater Lake (easy 2.5 mile loop)

  • 10th        “Charcoal Forest” Hike to Morrell Falls (Easy 4.6 miles) 

  • 11th        Kayaking/paddleboarding at Seeley Campground

  • 16th         Field trip to Missoula -  Montana Natural History Center 

  • 17th        “Wildflowers Hike” to Glacier Lake (easy 3.2 miles round trip)

  • 18th        Kayaking/paddleboarding River Point

  • 23rd        U of M Bird Banding Station + Clearwater Canoe Trail

  • 24th        Holland Falls + picnic and swimming at Holland Lake

  • 25th         Big Larch CG Service Learning with CRC

  • 30th        “Huckleberry Hike” to Morrell Falls

  • 31st        Family day at Garnet Ghost Town

August

  • 1st        Kayaking/paddleboarding at Big Larch Campground

  • 6th        Hike to Dinah/Elsina Lakes

  • 7th        Big Larch CG Service Learning with CRC

  • 8th        Kayaking/paddleboarding Clearwater River from River Point

  • 13th        Bike Rodeo at SLE then ride to Ski Trails

  • 14th        Hike the “M” in Missoula and “Bio-blitz” on Kim Williams Trail

  • 15th        Kayak/paddleboard at Seeley CG + BBQ beach party

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Activities run from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Parents/guardians must sign a waiver when registering their child/ren for Adventure Club. Pick kids up at the SLE lobby at 3:00.

 

Participants must bring a good healthy lunch, snack, and two bottles of water (no pop, power drinks, etc.) in a sturdy backpack.

 

Participants must wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the changing mountain weather and dress in layers. No sandals for hikes or bike rides!

 

Rainy day indoor activities will take place at SLE and will include the climbing wall, “Maker Space” technology and engineering projects, etc. 

 

Things NOT to bring on any outing:

  • A knife (trip leaders will have utility tools)

  • Bear spray (trip leaders will each carry it)

  • Electronic gadgets (cell phones, ipods, electronic toys, etc.)
