Informational message for all SLE families. We’ve received multiple inquiries regarding why we are in school today since it is a federal holiday. There are multiple federal holidays that schools are required to take off but Martin Luther King Day and President’s Day are two days not required. The district decided to keep with consistency by having school today instead of taking it off. If we took today off, we would have to be in session on Friday, to make up our hours, which also creates a two day weekend and an inconsistent schedule for all. I hope this clears up any confusion and questions. We will also follow this same format in February instead of taking President’s Day office. Please reach out with any questions or concerns as we will begin to work on next years calendar soon.

Good evening SLE families. Tomorrow we start to transport students to the Seeley Creek Trails for the Junior Prep Team. I ask all to please keep the horseshoe clear of cars from 3:45-4 as we have the bus loading there. I really appreciate your support in helping make this happen for our students. Have a great evening. Thank you.

Mark your calendars and watch for updates SEL families.

Attention SLE families,
We have had a few cases of lice identified over the last couple of days. Please check your student(s) and reach out to me if you need shampoo to address it. If your child does have it, please reach out to me to arrange for them to be checked prior to returning to school. Tomorrow, all staff have been directed to send all clothing home. Please wash them. We will be doing our due diligence to address all possibilities at school to get it stopped, such as opening windows, extra cleaning, spreading students out, keep clothing to individuals and washing all possible items. If after this week we still keep having students show up with lice I will be reaching out to set up a school-wide lice check. Thank you.

Attention SLE families - I was notified of lice at the end of the day so letters will go home tomorrow. Please remember, if your child does have lice, they do need to be checked by the office prior to returning to school. You can reach out to me to set up a time so confidentiality is kept at all times.
